Vitamin D for Hair Growth

Vitamin D has many health benefits, including for the hair. Much like with Vitamin C, along with various B vitamins, such as biotin and folic acid, Vitamin D tends to benefit the hair more effectively when used in conjunction with other vitamins and extracts.

Vitamin D is a group of fat-soluble secosteroids responsible for increasing intestinal absorption of calcium, magnesium, and phosphate, and many other biological effects. In humans, the most important compounds in this group are vitamin D₃ and vitamin D₂. Vitamin D has many health benefits, including hair health.

Does Vitamin D Stop Hair Loss and Promote Hair Growth?

Vitamin D is metabolised in the skin by keratinocytes. These are skin cells that process keratin, a protein in hair, nails, and skin. When the body doesn't have enough Vitamin D, keratinocytes in hair follicles have trouble regulating hair growth and shedding.

Vitamin D stimulates new and old hair follicles, and if you haven't got enough Vitamin D in your system, it can stunt new hair growth. Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to alopecia, the autoimmune condition that causes bald patches on the scalp and other areas of the body.

For a hair growth product to be fully effective, it should contain a generous dosage of Vitamin D. Vitamin D is commonly used in topical solutions, such as HR23+ Scalp Therapy Serum, such is its effectiveness.

Health Benefits of Vitamin D

Vitamin D helps regulate the amount of calcium and phosphate in the body. These nutrients are needed to keep bones, teeth and muscles healthy. A lack of Vitamin D can lead to bone deformities such as rickets in children, and bone pain caused by a condition called, osteomalacia, in adults.

Vitamin D can be commonly found in foods like oily fish, red meat, liver, eggs, fat spreads, breakfast cereal, and mushrooms. The sunlight also offers a natural way of getting Vitamin D into your system.

HR23+ hair restoration supplement combines Vitamin D with various B vitamins, and a host of other minerals and key extracts, that work in conjunction with each other to help with the prevention of hair loss, and the promotion of healthy hair growth in men and women.
